The 9th annual Taste of Carmel event will be held on Thursday, March 1st, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Carmel Ritz Charles. This extraordinary event will showcase 25 to 30 of the area’s finest restaurants, wineries and breweries, plus a silent auction containing more than 100 items. Shane Rodimel will entertain. This adult only event is attended by over 400 Carmel community members each year. All proceeds from this year's Taste of Carmel will benefit Orchard Park Elementary School, as it celebrates it's 25th year as a Carmel Clay School. A targeted Title 1 school, Orchard Park has more than twice the number of children in need than any other area school, and nearly 40% of students receive free or reduced lunches. Tickets to the Taste of Carmel are available at the Orchard Park Elementary office, or by calling 317-848-1918, for $25 each. Reserved tables for 8 can be purchase for $175. We Got Game
Most Sunday afternoons at my parents’ home have always been reserved for football. If my family needs to get together to celebrate a birthday … and it’s a Sunday … and there’s a football game on … that birthday celebration is going to be scheduled around the football game. Or it’s going to coincide with it, in which case we’re all going to sit and watch the game together. There are no questions asked about this routine—even if the Indianapolis Colts are losing … a lot. . . .
